The Pet Oncologist Chemotherapy Workshop

Join The Pet Oncologist for a one-day, hands-on chemotherapy workshop in Brisbane. Limited to 10 vets & 5 nurses, this workshop will empower you with the skills & insights required to safely administer oral & injectable chemotherapy.

This includes guidance on preparation, handling, storage, transport, disposal, and dispensing of chemotherapy.

The morning session will commence with engaging presentations, followed by an afternoon of hands-on practice on dummy dog venipuncture leg models & live dogs. Supplier insights, addressing attendee learning interests, & advanced chemotherapy techniques such as intracavitary chemotherapy, will also be covered. You will leave with comprehensive chemotherapy equipment & resources, allowing you to readily implement what you've learned right away!

At the end of the workshop, you will leave with comprehensive equipment and resources, allowing you to readily implement what you've learned right away! Additionally, you will continue to receive remote support from Dr. Catherine Chan through The Pet Oncologist.

Key Workshop Highlights

Hands-on Experience: Practical training in administering injectable chemotherapy utilising two common closed-system transfer devices: Equashield® and PhaSeal. For ethical considerations, dogs will receive saline instead of chemotherapy. This experience will provide you with practical skills in administering injectable chemotherapy.

Comprehensive Chemotherapy Starter Kits: Receive essential equipment for safe chemotherapy administration, including a chemotherapy tray, Equashield® equipment & consumables for at least 5 treatments, PPE, an extravasation kit, a cytotoxic spill kit, signage, cytotoxic bags, cytotoxic stickers & a cytotoxic bin, etc. This comprehensive starter kit will instil confidence in safely implementing chemotherapy in your practice.

Exclusive Resources: Access training manuals, 96 chemotherapy drug information sheets (valued over $1,500), supplier information, & other resources exclusively available to workshop participants.

Post-workshop Support: Real-time Zoom guidance & support available for your first chemotherapy treatment. We can check your set-up, help source chemotherapy drugs or consumables, & provide cancer case consultation & advice.

Addressing Attendee Learning Interests: Customise the program based on attendee preferences by letting us know what you want to learn!

Catering, a CPD certificate (14 CPD points), large take-home chemotherapy packs, equipment, and resources will be provided to all attendees.

Reduce Costs for Vet Nurses – Bring a Nurse for $700 extra!

To support our vet nurses, vets can bring along a vet nurse to assist in hands-on practice on live dogs, and we've lowered the nurse ticket cost to 28% of the original cost.

This exclusive offer is designed to reduce costs for vet nurses' participation while ensuring a high-quality learning experience for the whole team.

This vet nurse ticket includes full one-day workshop access, excluding take-home chemotherapy packs and manuals. However, one pack will be supplied to the vet hospital.

Our Sponsors Make The Difference!

Organising workshops where we provide comprehensive chemotherapy take-home packs, hands-on live-dog and dog dummy legs training using three chemotherapy closed system transfer devices, and exclusive resources is a time-consuming and costly undertaking. Without sponsorship, we would not be able to run our workshops.

Regardless of the size of your contribution, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation. Your support ensures that our attendees receive maximum benefit from the workshop. We cannot run the workshop without you - thank you very much!
