The Pet Oncologist Chemotherapy Workshop
Join The Pet Oncologist for a one-day, hands-on chemotherapy workshop in Brisbane on Saturday 20th January 2024. Limited to just 10 veterinary delegates, this exclusive and interactive workshop will empower you with the essential skills and insights required for the safe administration of oral and injectable chemotherapy to pets.
This includes guidance on preparation, handling, storage, transport, disposal, and dispensing of chemotherapy. The morning session will begin with interactive, hands-on presentations, followed by an afternoon filled with live dog demonstrations on the administration of injectable chemotherapy. By the conclusion of this workshop, veterinarians will be fully equipped to administer chemotherapy in their clinical practice.
Key Workshop Highlights:
Hands-on Experience: Participants will have the unique opportunity to gain practical experience in administering injectable chemotherapy to live dogs, utilising three common closed system transfer devices: Equashield®, PhaSeal, and Chemfort. For ethical considerations, dogs will receive saline instead of chemotherapy. This experience will provide you with practical skills in administering injectable chemotherapy.
Comprehensive Chemotherapy Starter Kits: Attendees will receive all the essential equipment required to safely begin administering chemotherapy. This includes Equashield® equipment for 3-5 chemotherapy administrations, personal protective equipment (PPE), an extravasation kit, a chemotherapy spill kit, and laminated signage. This comprehensive starter kit will instil confidence in safely implementing chemotherapy in your practice.
Exclusive Resources: Participants will gain access to vital training manuals and receive all 96 of The Pet Oncologist's chemotherapy drug information sheets (total value $1,440). Additionally, attendees will receive information on suppliers and other resources exclusively available to workshop participants only.
Catering, CPD certificate (10 CPD points), take-home chemotherapy resources & equipment will be provided to all attendees.
At the end of the workshop, you'll be well-prepared to administer oral and injectable chemotherapy safely in your practice and will continue to receive remote support from Dr. Catherine Chan through The Pet Oncologist.
