Chemotherapy in pets often carries a lot of misconceptions, especially when compared to human cancer treatment. In this webinar, we'll explore how chemotherapy for pets differs significantly from human therapy, with most pets feeling well throughout treatment. 10-20% of pets experience mild chemotherapy side effects, <5% require hospitalisation, and <1% result in death. But why do humans typically get sick from chemotherapy, while most pets do not?
We'll dive into the realities of chemotherapy, addressing both the good and the bad, and provide the truths that every veterinarian should know. We'll also discuss some challenging cases and the less-discussed aspects of chemotherapy. Whether you're hesitant about recommending chemotherapy or simply want to better inform your clients, this webinar will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to navigate this complex topic.
Additionally, this webinar will help you navigate the often-uncomfortable conversation about chemotherapy with pet owners. At the end of the day, your role is to inform, not to dictate what clients should or shouldn't do—it's ultimately the client’s decision. We'll provide you with the tools to present the information clearly and compassionately, empowering your clients to make informed choices about their pet’s care.
